Well, here we are at the beginning of another trip around the sun. 2025 is starting off on the good foot. First up and out the gate is the KNOE1 & Tim Tucker 7" release “Girl Ur Freaky” on Star Creature.

Star Creature staying true to its boogie roots here with a certified West Coast Slapper here; The type of funk that can only come from a combo of “Cali’s Finest”. This 7” features a collaboration of two Star Creature veterans hailing from both Northern and Southern California for ultimate funk measure.
Knoe1 began making a splash on Tim Zawada’s Tugboat Editions Imprint with in 2023 with two banging 7”s remaking unobtainable boogie grails from Cleo McNett and Roland & Maxwell with a modern spin. He’s also come off recent remix projects for Patrick Adam’s Cloud One alias and Gary Davis’s Chocolate Star label.
Tim Tucker’s voice may sound familiar to Star Creature fans from his groups Love Cryme alongside Beat Electric’s Ben Johnson aka Dogtones as well as Birdbone Unlimited alongside Brian Ellis (Stones Throw, Egyptian Lover).
The two have paired here for a raw, uncut cut with all the necessary elements for the freaky funk aficionados. Synthed out sounds layered over a smacking clap and spaced-out low end. This is tough groove for tender moments on the dancefloor and the launch of something special from this duo.
Up next is a collaboration that brings the talents of Bachflora, Fonk-E-Bone, Knoe1 & Robin Roth all together for a funk infused slaptastic vibe that echos O'Neal and Cherrelle is the FONK-E-BONE joint “Hold on Tight” that's slated for a 7" vinyl release that also will feature a KNOE1 remix.

Other collaborations currently in the works are with Neon Brown (Pute) cover of Fatback Band's “She's A Go Getter” & Ben Johnson (Love Cryme). Stay tuned for more as things unfold.
